End of road at Sony Open Tennis
Maria lost the final against Serena Williams in 3 sets: 6-4, 3-6, 0-6 after 2 hours and 8 minutes of play.
In Maria`s schedule the next tournament is Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. The tournament begins on April 22.

Maria in Sony Open Tennis final
Great performance for Maria after she defeated Jelena Jankovic of Serbia at Sony Open Tennis in Miami. She won the semifinal in straight sets: 6-2, 6-1 after one hour and 3 minutes.
This is the 3rd consecutive final for her at this tournament and this match is the 11th that she won in straight sets. Well done, Maria !
The semifinal was way easier for her than the quarter against Errani. After this strong evolution, Maria awaits her opponent.
In Sony Open Tennis final, Maria will play either Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland or Serena Williams of United States. The final is scheduled on Saturday.

Maria in semifinals at Sony Open
Maria passed Sara Errani of Italy in straight sets: 7-5, 7-5 after 2 hours and 30 minutes and she is in semifinals at Sony Open Tennis in Miami.
So, a long and tough match for Maria against Errani (the first set lasted almost 80 minutes) and thats why this victory is so important. This is the 4th victory in a row for Maria against the italian player.
In semifinals, Maria will play either Jelena Jankovic of Serbia or Robert Vinci of Italy.

Miami quarterfinal
Maria reached to Miami quarterfinals after she defeated Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic in straight sets: 6-2, 6-2 at Sony Open Tennis after one hour and 20 minutes.
In quarterfinal, Maria will play agianst Sara Errani of Italy. On head to head, Maria leads Errani: 3-0. Their last match was this year in Indian Wells quarterfinal, where Maria won in straight sets: 7-6, 6-2. The match is scheduled on Wednesday.

4th Round in Miami
Maria is in last 16 after she defeated Elena Vesnina of Russia in straight sets: 6-4, 6-2 after one hour and 49 minutes.
There were some problems for Maria in first set when Vesnina made the break, but Maria rebreaked immediately and managed to win the first set after more than one hour.
After another victory at Sony Open Tennis 2013, Maria will play in 4th Round against Klara Zakoplaova of Czech Republic. On head to head, Maria leads Zakopalova: 4-1. Their last match was this year in Doha where Maria won in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3.

First victory in Miami
Maria defeated Eugenie Bouchard of Canada in 2nd round at Sony Open Tennis, Miami in straight sets: 6-2, 6-0 after less than one hour: 57 minutes.
After this easy victory, Maria is in 3rd round where she will play against Elena Vesnina of Russia.
On head to head, the score between Maria and Vesnina is tied at 1. Their last match was in 2010 in second round at Beijing where Vesnina won in straight sets: 7-6, 6-2.
