Doha quarters

Another step forward for Maria at Qatar Total Open. She defeated Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3 after one hour and 27 minutes.

After this victory Maria reached to Doha quarterfinals, where she will play against Samantha Stosur of Australia.

On head to head, Maria leads Stosur: 11-2. Their last match was in 2012 at WTA Championships - Istanbul , where Maria won in straight sets: 6-0, 6-3.

2nd Round victory in Doha

Easy victory for Maria at Qatar Total Open in Doha. She defeated Caroline Garcia of France in straight sets: 6-3, 6-2 after one hour and 17 minutes.

After this vicotry, Maria reached to 3rd round and awaits her opponent. In 3rd round, Maria will play either Klara Zakopalova of Czech Repuplic or Sloane Stephens of United States.

The draw for the Qatar Total Open has been released and Maria has a `bye` in first round.

In second round Maria will play either a qualifier or Fatma Al Nabhani of Oman.

Maria is seeded No.3 and she won the trophy in Doha twice: in 2005 and 2008.
