Maria lost in quarterfinals at Open GDF Suez against Angelique Kerber in straight sets: 4-6, 4-6 after 1 hour and 30 minutes.
In first set when the score was 4-2 for Maria, Kerber won 4 games in a row and at 4-5, Maria was obligated to win her game to remain in the first set, but the german player made the break and won the first set after 36 minutes.
In the second set, at 1-1 Maria made the break and after that she won her serve for a 3-1 lead, but Kerber managed to make 3-3 immediately. In the end, the story was the same, at 4-5, Maria lost her serve and also the match.
The next tournament where we can see Maria is Indian Wells. The tournament begins on 7th of March.
