Another straight set victory for Maria in Melbourne. She defeated Kirsten Flipkens of Blegium: 6-1, 6-0 after only one hour and 7 minutes.
Maria did not lose a set in this tournament and lost only 5 games this year at Australian Open.
In quarterfinal, Maria will play against Ekaterina Makarova of Russia. Maria played last year against Makarova in Melbourne and she defeated her in straight sets: 6-2, 6-3, but thier last match was last year in Miami where Maria won again in straight sets: 6-4, 7-6. The overall score is 4-0 for Maria.
