Important victory for Maria against a tough opponent at Australian Open. She defeated Venus Williams of United States in straight sets: 6-1, 6-3 and reached to 4th round at the first Grand Slam of the year.
The match was not so easy, but with 17 winners and 4 aces, Maria won and made another step forward.
In 4th round, Maria will play against Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium. On head to head, Maria leads Flipkens: 2-0. Their last match was in 2010 at Roland Garros where Maria won in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3.
