Maria made the break in the beginning of the match and after that she won her serve for a 2-0 lead. At 3-1, Maria made the rbeak for the second time in first set, but Zakopalova made the re-break immediately and the score was 4-2.
In the end, Maria won the first set, 6-4 after 44 minutes.
Like in first set, Maria made the break in the beginning of the second set. At 4-2 she made another break for a 5-2 lead and Maria served for the match but Zakopalova made the break.
Maria won the match on Zakopalova`s serve, 6-4; 6-3 after 1 hour and 17 minutes and she is now in 3rd round in Madrid.
The next opponent will be decided between Lucie Safarova of Czech Republic and Carla Suarez-Navarro of Spain.
On head to head, Maria is leaded by Safarova (0-1). She was defeated by the Czech in 2010 here in Madrid.
And if Maria will play against Navarro, will be the first match between them .
