Maria defeated Olga Puchkova of Russia in first round at Australian Open in straight sets: 6-0, 6-0 after less than one hour (55 minutes) and reached to 2nd round.
Maria started well the match against Puchkova by winning her game in debut after a tough fight. The score was 2-0 in first set after she made the break and leaded even more confortably (3-0) after another game that Maria won on her serve.
At 3-0, it was another break for Maria and shortly after that the score was: 5-0.
In the end, Maria won the first set: 6-0 after only 30 minutes of play with 11 winners and 8 unforced errors.
In second set, Maria won her serve and leaded 2-0 after she made the break. At 3-0, it was another break for Maria and like in first set she leaded 5-0 after winning her game.
In the end, Maria won the second set after another break (6-0) and the match.
In 2nd round, Maria will play either Petra Martic of Croatia or Misaki Doi of Japan.
