Maria won her 2nd round match at US Open 2012. She defeated Lourdes Dominguez Lino in straight sets: 6-0, 6-1 after only 54 minutes with 17 unforced errors and 30 winners.
One of the most important aspects of this match is that Dominguez Lino had no winners and 4 unforced errors.
Maria started well the match, after she won her game, she immediately made the break for a 2-0 lead. At 3-0, Maria made the second break and her lead was confortable (5-0) after she won her serve.
Maria won the first set (6-0) after 21 minutes.
In second set, at 2-1 Maria made the break for a 3-1 lead. At 4-1, it was another break for Maria and she served to win the second set and the match.
In the end, Maria won the second set (6-1) and the match.
In 3rd round, Maria will play Mellory Burdette of United States. This will be the first match between Maria and Burdette. The american player is No. 252 WTA.
