Maria won her first round match in Beijing against Simona Halep of Romania in straight sets: 7-5, 7-5.
As you can see both of the sets were tough for Maria against Halep. She won the first set after 55 minutes with 16 winners and 21 unforced errors.
Maria won the second set with the same score like the first one and the match after one hour and 52 minutes with 39 unforced errors, 33 winners and with 69% percentage on the first serve.
In second round, Maria will play against another player from Romaina. This time Sorana Cirstea will be her opponent. This will be the first match between them.
