Another great victory for Maria at Mutua Madrid Open. She deefated Sabine Lisicki of Germany in straight sets: 6-2, 7-5 after one hour and 40 minutes.
After this important victory Maria is in quarterfinals where she will play either Kaia Kanepi of Estonia or Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia.
Maria leads Kanepi: 1-0. Their only match was last year at Roland Garros where Maria won in straight sets: 6-2, 6-3.Also, on head to head Maria leads Hantuchova: 8-1. Their last match in 2011 in Stanford, where Maria won the match in 3 sets: 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
