Victory number 9 for Maria against Samantha Stosur after the quarterfinal match at W&S - Cincinnati, where she won against the australian player in straight sets: 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 12 minutes.
It was a very good match made by Maria, in the first set she made the break when the score was 3-2 and another one in the last game when Stosur served. The second set was much easier, Maria leaded 5-0 but in the final Stosur managed to win 2 games.
So, Maria advances to semifinals at Cincinnati where she will play against Vera Zvonareva of Russia, another russian player for Maria after Svetlana Kuznetsova. The overall score between Maria and Zvonareva is 6-3 for Maria.
