WOW !!! That was a match to remember ! After 2 hours and 49 minutes Maria won the final at W&S against Jelena Jankovic.
Maria won in 2 sets: 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 after a strong opposition from the serbian player. Maria alternated the awsome shots with the double-faults and the unforced errors. Maria made 11 double-faults and 64 unforced errors, but with 37 winners she managed to make the difference in the last set, when she won the game on her serve after 6 break games.
So, it was not her best match, but it`s very important that Maria won and she is the new Cincinnati Champion ! This is the second trophy for Maria this year after she won in Rome on clay.
After this strong performance on a difficult surface, Maria will be No.4 in the WTA rankings with 6346 points. The next tournament where we can see Maria is the last Grand Slam of the year, U.S. Open !
