A real drama in the 1st Round at U.S. Open for Maria against Heather Watson. Eventually the russian player managed to defeat Watson in 3 sets: 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 after a match that lasted 2 hours and 34 minutes !
So, tough match for Maria who is now in 2nd Round at Flushing Meadows where she will play either Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus or Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand.
The match is scheduled on Wednesday.
