Maria in Miami final !
Maria is the first finalist at Sony Ericsson Open in Miami after she won a disputed match in semifinals against Caroline Wozniacki.
Maria made the break in the beginning of the match and after won her serve for a 2-0 lead. At 3-1 Maria made the break again and leaded Wozniacki 4-1 but the danish player recovered on break immediately (4-2). At 4-3 Maria made 3 double-faults and she lost her serve and the score was tied at 4. At 4-5, Maria served to remain in the first set but Wozniacki made the break. So, Maria lost the first set, 4-6 after 56 minutes.
Like in the first set, Maria made the break in the beginning of the second set and after that won her serve (2-0). After 2 breaks, Maria leaded 4-0 and that is when Wozniacki won her first game of this second set. The situation was identical like in the first set, but this time Maria made 5-1. In the end, Maria won the second set: 6-2 after 40 minutes playing much better than the first set.
In third set at 2-2, Maria made the break and leaded Wozniacki: 4-2 after she conserved her service. In this good period of the game, Maria made another break for a 5-2 lead. At 5-2 Maria served for the match but Wozniacki made the break. At 5-4, Maria served again for the match and this time she won the game, the set and the match after 2 hours and 33 minutes: 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 with 46 unforced errors, 50 winners and with 71% percentage at first service.
In the last act, Maria will play either Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland or Marion Bartoli of France. Against Bartoli the score is 4-0 for Maria and the last match was in 2010 at Cincinnati where Maria won in quarterfinal: 6-1, 6-4. Against Radwanska, Maria leads 7-1 and the last match was at Roland Garros, last year when Maria won in 4th Round: 7-6, 7-5.
