Maria is in last 16 after she defeated Elena Vesnina of Russia in straight sets: 6-4, 6-2 after one hour and 49 minutes.
There were some problems for Maria in first set when Vesnina made the break, but Maria rebreaked immediately and managed to win the first set after more than one hour.
After another victory at Sony Open Tennis 2013, Maria will play in 4th Round against Klara Zakoplaova of Czech Republic. On head to head, Maria leads Zakopalova: 4-1. Their last match was this year in Doha where Maria won in straight sets: 6-3, 6-3.
