Maria defeated Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark in straight sets: 6-2, 6-2 after one hour and 21 minutes and she is the new BNP Paribas Open champion ! Congratulations, Maria !
In the beginning of the final, Maria made the break and leaded 2-0 after she won her serve. At 4-2, it was another break for Maria and she served to win the first set and after she saved two break-points, Maria won the first part of the final: 6-2 after 38 minutes.
Like in first set, Maria made the break and leaded 2-0 after she won her game in second set. The situation was exactly like in the first set, at 4-2, Maria made the break in a perfect moment and she served to win the trophy !
In the end, Maria won the second set: 6-2, the match and the tournament !
